WorkCover & TAC Services

Our doctors are experienced and understanding when liaising with patients and clients regarding WorkCover consultations. We believe it is best for injured or unwell workers to return to some form of work at the earliest appropriate opportunity.

Your WorkCover doctor will complete a WorkCover Certificate of Capacity outlining the duties you can and cannot perform, as well as recommendations to support your recovery. This certificate is also used to communicate your case with your insurer, employer, and other healthcare professionals involved in your care.

The WorkCover Certificate of Capacity must be updated every 28 days by your nominated WorkCover doctor. For continuity of care, patients are encouraged to follow up with the same doctor for all WorkCover appointments.

Additionally, we offer allied health services on-site that work in conjunction with our doctors to provide the highest standard of care, including:

• Physiotherapy
• Psychology
• Podiatry
• Clinical Pilates

Duff Street Wellness Centre also features a Clinical Pilates Gym to assist with rehabilitation. We are able to treat musculoskeletal complaints, carry out casting and splinting of fractured limbs, and design individual functional strengthening programs.

In most cases, patients rely on their GP for advice and coordination of medical treatment and services to assist with recovery, rehabilitation, and return to work, including:

• Monitoring and reviewing progress and outcomes
• Prescribing safe and clinically appropriate pharmacy items
• Referrals to other healthcare services and monitoring their effectiveness
• Discussing the health benefits of work as part of recovery
• Assessing and certifying work capacity
• Identifying barriers to returning to work
• Communicating a patient’s capacity with employers where appropriate
